My work consists of bare-naked drawing. I have been studying and practicing drawing for most of my adult life, making each mark expressive of what it means to be human. Many pieces contain only a figure or two, parts of a body, or abstract bits of line that drift through “empty” space. They range in scale from 1" x 3" (on glass laboratory slides or little cards), while others are epic, 5' x 9' works on canvas, inhabited by thousands of figures.

I'm a nurse and political activist as well as an artist. Drawing is how I confront the pain, beauty, and contradictions of everyday life. Sometimes I see the world as my patient - in disasters like earthquakes and epidemics or the brokenness of a corporatized world.  Art is strong medicine.
